Senior Software Designer
Position:
Role:
The senior software designer works in a multi-disciplinary project team, consisting of a project manager, application specialists, senior designers and developers. The senior software designer leads the design and implementation of the product's software architecture.
Profile: Tasks and Responsibilities
- Is an active member of a multi-disciplinary team of senior designers, responsible for optimal product design and realization;
- Drives the complete software development cycle from requirements analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, through deployment of the product;
- Is responsible for the software architecture and realization of complex high-tech products and/or services provided to the customer;
- Manages outsourced product development with respect to content;
- Enforces adherence to the ISO 13485 quality management system regarding medical equipment;
- Keeps abreast of new technology developments and maintains the software technology roadmap;
- Makes sure that design and architectural processes are defined and continuously improved and ensures that their quality levels are appropriate;
- Advises on and leads the implementation of new methods, tools and processes.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in product design and development of complex products;
- Is able to understand and work with specialists of the other disciplines software, electronics, optics and medical application development;
- Good knowledge of and experience in applying design and architectural patterns in mechanic/mechatronic development;
- Works in a structural, systematic and controlled manner and documents his work appropriately and to the required standards;
- Familiar with modern, iterative software development processes like the Rational Unified Process;
- Has good knowledge of the development life-cycle and process management and improvement techniques;
- Takes ownership, initiative and responsibility in problem solving;
- Good analytical, problem solving and creative skills;
- Has demonstrated technical leadership;
- Has worked within ISO 13485 or a similar quality management system and has experience in applying regulatory standards and guidelines in his work;
- Experience with computer aided engineering and development tools;
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English. Is capable to transfer knowledge to various audiences.
Experience:
- At least 5 years experience in the design and implementation of software architectures within multi-disciplinary product development;
- At least 8 years experience in object-oriented analysis, design and development, using the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment.
